Maruti Suzuki eVX
Maruti Suzuki may launch its first electric car, EVX, this year. The company has announced that the EVX electric SUV, which was unveiled at the January Auto Expo, will be manufactured at Suzuki Motor’s Gujarat facility in Hansalpur from next year. The launch of the EVX electric SUV is scheduled for 2024. This first electric SUV of Maruti will cover a distance of about 550 kilometers in a single charge. It will have a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This vehicle will give tough competition to models like MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors recently showcased the electric version of its flagship Harrier SUV in Delhi. The Harrier EV is built on Gen 2 EV architecture and will have both V2L (vehicle to load) and V2V (vehicle to vehicle) charging capabilities. It is believed that Tata can launch this SUV in the middle of this year.
Tata Curvev EV
The second electric vehicle of Tata Motors which is ready to be launched this year is Curve EV. Built on Tata Motors’ X1 platform, the Curve EV has undergone several changes to transform it into an electric vehicle (EV)-ready configuration. There are preparations to bring Curv between Nexon EV and Harrier EV.
Korean automotive company Kia is set to expand its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio in India by unveiling a 7-seater electric SUV, the EV9. Using the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV9 will be more than five meters long and have a range of 541 kilometers on a single charge. The EV9 is expected to be available in two variants. Globally, the EV9 is equipped with a 150 kW electric motor, which helps it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds.
Expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in India, Mahindra & Mahindra is set to introduce an electric SUV based on the XUV700, the company’s second electric offering after the XUV400. Mahindra had unveiled five upcoming electric SUVs during an event in the United Kingdom in August last year.
Branded under the Born Electric label, the XUV.e8 is expected to feature dual electric motors and all-wheel-drive technology. Mahindra is expected to equip the XUV.e8 EV with a minimum 60 kWh battery pack along with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), 5G connectivity, and other additional features.
