Haldwani violence: MLA held administration responsible

Haldwani: The violence in Haldwani on Thursday had taken a gruesome form. Hundreds of people have been injured in this uproar. Curfew has been imposed in the entire city. Along with this, orders have also been given to shoot the miscreants at sight. Internet was shut down in the city since Thursday night. Along with this, apart from police, paramilitary forces and PSC troops have also been deployed in the area.

‘The administration carried out this act in a hurry’

Now the statement of Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh has come to light in this matter. He said, from independence till today, such an incident had never happened in Haldwani. There has always been an atmosphere of peace and unity here. The High Court had fixed February 14 as the date of hearing of this case, yet the government and administration carried out this act in a hurry.

The MLA said, “I have spoken to Chief Minister Dhami on phone and I have told him about the entire matter. My condolences to all the administrative officers, policemen and local citizens who have been injured and casualties in this act, my condolences to their families. I appeal to all the residents of the city to ignore any kind of rumor and extend full cooperation in maintaining peace and order.”

‘The local people had to be taken into confidence before taking action’

He said that the administration has taken this entire action in haste and haste. This is a big mistake. The MLA said that before taking this action the local people and Maulanas should have been taken into confidence but this was not done. Due to this haste, this horrific violence took place and a black spot was put on the name of Haldwani.
