The troubles of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, who is facing ED custody in the alleged land scam, are not showing any sign of abating. After 5-day remand, Hemant Soren appeared before the Ranchi Special Court on Monday. However, the court sent him on ED remand for 3 more days. ED had sought remand of Hemant Soren for 4 more days. ED alleges that Hemant is not cooperating in the investigation.
Transfer posting trap also exposed
According to ED, Hemant Soren was shown a WhatsApp chat with his associate Binod Singh, which Soren not only refused to sign but also denied having any information about it, hiding the facts. The agency had obtained about 539 pages of WhatsApp chats of Soren with Binod Singh, in which not only was there evidence of talks about taking over government lands, but the web of transfer posting of officers was also exposed.
New WhatsApp chat of 201 pages found
ED suspects that Soren has also earned big money from transfer-posting. Apart from this, ED has also found a new WhatsApp chat of 201 pages which is going to increase the problems of Hemant Soren. According to the information, in this chat, Soren and Binod Singh had planned future business on the occupied land. ED is busy investigating all these cases.
What’s new in chat?
According to ED, on April 6, 2021, Binod Singh had sent a map on WhatsApp to make a banquet on the land captured from Hemant Soren. This banquet was to be built on 8.5 acres of captured land, there was no bigger piece of land left in that area, hence Hemant Soren captured it by preparing fake papers with the help of Revenue Sub Inspector Bhanu Pratap. Bhanu Pratap is also in the custody of ED, hence, ED is now planning to interrogate Bhanu Pratap by making him sit in front of Hemant Soren again. When Hemant Soren was asked for his phone number, he refused to give his phone details, ED has got the details of WhatsApp chat of this phone.
