In this match, the Sri Lankan team, batting first, scored 381 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 50 overs, thanks to Pathum Nissanka’s double century. After this, the Afghanistan team, which came to chase the target, managed to score only 339 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs, despite the century innings of Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai.

While Omarzai played an unbeaten inning of 149 runs in 115 balls, Nabi scored 136 runs in 130 balls. Whereas in bowling for Sri Lanka, Pramod Madushan took 4 wickets while Dushmanta Chameera took 2 wickets.

Nissanka’s double century took Sri Lanka to a big score

If we talk about the innings of Sri Lankan team in this match, Pathum Nissanka’s brilliant performance was seen in it, in which he played an inning of 210 runs facing 139 balls. Nissanka also became the first player from Sri Lanka to score a double century in ODI. Apart from this, Avishka Fernando scored 88 runs while Sadira Samarawickrama scored 45 runs in this innings, due to which Sri Lanka was able to reach the score of 381. In bowling for Afghanistan, Fadir Ahmed took 2 wickets while Mohammad Nabi took 1 wicket. The second ODI match of the series between the two teams will be played on 11 February.
